Teenage Crime

One thing I absolutely love about the area I live in is it's abundance of street art. No, not graffiti. This is art, people.
These pics are literally taken outside my neighbours. Growing up, the walls were changed up every year or so, new colours, new shapes, new artists.

Somedays you'd catch them working on their new pieces, ask if you don't mind you watching them, (they never do) and you sit in the gutter or on a milk crate, slightly light-headed from the fumes, and just watch these new pieces unfold.

Surry Hills

Wearing: Minkpink Elephant Tee, Cheap Monday Jeans, Windor Smith boots, Gifted Cardigan

Overused word of the day: cute.
Surry Hills has got to be one of the cutest suburbs in Sydney, you could literally just spend hours and hours walking the back streets pointing out everything, from detailed iron fences, to a pastel hued row of terraces, to the talking parrot on the shoulder of a local on Crown St.
Cafe hopping is a must in Surry Hills, but with the adorability ratings of every coffee house off the roof, its a tough choice to make.

So for a great day out, roam the streets of Surry Hills. Don't look at any maps, don't make any plans, just wander. There's plenty to catch the eye, some great street art pieces and a multitude of good food.
Don't forget to finish the day with a triple scoop of messina however!

Stay Colourful

Wearing: Vintage lace top, Mink Pink pants, Vintage booties, Gifted cardigan, Gloss Bag

A recent wardrobe addition from the Mink Pink sale, I am loving these pants! Always a fan of funky pants, the print is so bright and tropical, there's something to be said about brightening up your day wearing island flora on your legs. So with the slightest bit of sun outside, I headed out, dodging the usual dark winter attires that passed me, chilled back at Marrickville cafe Double Roasters, with the biggest masala chai tea set up (like. ever.) and pranced around the alleyways nearby.
So if you're bracing the winter months at the moment, splash some colour in that wardrobe! Literally if you must.

Peace out and stay colourful
xx

Reflections

The other day I had to drop my brother off for his soccer game the other day, and with an hour or two to kill I went for a walk. And what a walk!
This is the Cooks River, a river that runs throughout Sydney, notorious throughout my childhood environmental studies as a breeding ground of pollution and dumping. Basically it was disgusting. As much as a love waterways, rivers and beach fronts, I'd learnt to avoid the parks and reserves that fronted the river but for the first time in so long, the river was beautiful.
The water was still, allowing for reflections of all sorts to show upon the river. Massively trippy.

So get out there and discover whats around you! Maybe even rediscover something you once overlooked and try to see the beauty in it all.
Easy as a walk in the park. Literally.
